The Children’s Library is filled with things to discover every day - including beautifully written and illustrated books, Storytime-to-Go backpacks and fun, interactive learning activities & programs. The moment you pass into our colorful space, you are stepping into a world of wonder, where imagination is in the air and creativity is always flowing. 

 

Storytime

Storytimes with Miss Karen

We offer storytimes which have been created with the changing developmental needs of children as they grow. Participants are welcome to attend whichever group suits their child best.

Book Babies for babies 0-16 months, is held on Thursday at 10:30 am & 1:00 pm
Toddler Train for children 16 month to 3, is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 am & 1:00 pm
Pre-School Storytime for children 3+, is held on Fridays at 10:30 am & 1:00 pm

***Due to space limitations we can only allow 50 participants in each storytime session
Before you join a storytime group, pick up a ticket at the front desk. This ticket saves you a space at storytime. 
Tickets can be picked up 30 minutes before storytime begins.
If you are unable to get a ticket, please join us at a different time. 
Each storytime (toddler train, book babies & preschool) have a 10:30 am & 1 pm session.

Family Free Play

Family Free Play
Mondays 11-1 pm

Drop-in and chat with other caregivers as the kiddos play. The library will provide the space and toys for kids to play as caregivers of young children connect with one another.

Play-Doh Play Day

Play-Doh Playday
Tuesdays 11-noon

Children and their adult are invited to an open time to develop fine motor skills while playing with play-doh. Drop in and spend 10 minutes playing or stay the whole hour and connect with other adults while your little play.

Brick Builders Club

Brick Builders Club
2nd & 4th Monday each month @ 4:00 pm

Kids 5+ can come create amazing Lego designs with us! 
*children under 8 need a responsible adult to join them.

Fidgety Fingers Craft Club

Fidgety Fingers: Kids Craft Club

Join us for fun STEAM crafts & activities the 3rd Thursday of each month at 4 pm. Kids 6-12

  • November: Balloon Stress Balls
  • December: Pick up a Take & Make "Reindeer Food" activity beginning December 7.
Nature Tales

Nature Tales with Stokes Nature Center

Kids are invited to join Stokes Nature Center at the library for some nature themed storytimes. 

Club 123

Club 123
4th Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm

1st, 2nd & 3rd graders are invited to this book club especially for beginning chapter readers. We'll discuss, craft & snack so pick up a book and plan to join us for some fun!

  •  October we'll be discussing the Eerie Elementary series by Jack Chabert! Canceled due to illness
    Rescheduled for November 7
  • November we'll be discussing Kondo & Kezumi Visit Giant Island by David Goodner

Library Kits

Library Kits

Storytime-to-Go! kits are geared towards kids ages 2-7. They contain books, a learning toy and resource sheet with activities to help you re-create the storytime experience at home.

Kid's Stress Relief kits are geared towards kids in 3rd-5th grades and contain books/activities centered on movement, mindfulness, deep breathing, calm-down space and creation.

These kits are located in the children's room and circulate for 2 weeks. For more information about these kits and other library items, contact the library.
