Fire Inspections 

The Smithfield City Fire Department performs annual inspection of all businesses within Smithfield City to ensure compliance of fire codes and ordinances. These inspections help to reduce fire hazards and dangerous conditions existing within your business.

Fire Code Enforcement
Issue violations notices where appropriate
Handle citizen complaints regarding fire safety hazards

Code Enforcement:

The Smithfield Fire Department enforces the State Adopted ICC International Fire Code with adopted amendments, as well as applicable provisions of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Life Safety Code.

Plan Review:

The Smithfield Fire Department also reviews all new and existing commercial building plans. All plans are examined to ensure that they meet all requirements of national, state, and local codes.
