Position Description: Golf Course Turf Staff
Department: Birch Creek Golf Course
Supervisor: Golf Course Superintendent
FLSA Status: Seasonal
May perform work involving the use of large and small equipment, including tractors, mowers, loaders, trenchers, chainsaws, string trimmers, and other maintenance equipment; perform routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Golf Course Maintenance
- Works under the direction of Superintendent or lead staff member
- Operates equipment associated with maintenance of the course and surrounding grounds
- Performs landscaping work as needed
- Assists in the maintenance and repair of golf facilities, sprinkling system, equipment, and tools
- Perform routine manual labor as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
Graduation or working toward High School Diploma. Prefer experience including sprinkler/irrigation maintenance and installation, turf care, and equipment operation. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and be at least 18 year of age.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands and arms to operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift weights up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy in field settings and moderately quiet in office settings. Turf staff regularly work early morning and weekend hours.
$8-$12 per hour
